Steven Moffat is a respected British comedy/drama writer who has contributed to television series since the late 1980s.

His first work on television was for the series "Press Gang" in 1989, which he also co-created. He later moved onto writing jobs on series such as "Murder Most Horrid" starring Dawn French, and "Chalk". He has also contributed to many annual "Comic Relief" nights, including writing the script for the parody "Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death" in 1999.

In 2000. he produced and wrote for the programme "Coupling". He also wrote the pilot episode for the American version of the same series, in 2003.
