Sudan

The Sudan is also a geographic region, part of which lies in the country of Sudan.

Sudan is a country in northeast Africa. The capital is Khartoum. It borders Egypt to the north, Eritrea and Ethiopia to the east, Kenya and Uganda to the southeast, Congo and the Central African Republic to the southeast, Chad to the west, and Libya to the northwest.
