Surrey Quays tube station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Surrey Quays is a London Underground station in Rotherhithe near Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and Southwark Park. It is in zone 2, and is on the East London Line. The next station to the north is Canada Water, and to the south it splits into two branches, which lead to the two southern terminuses, New Cross Gate and New Cross.

The station was built in 1884 and was known as Deptford Road until 1911. It was subsequently renamed Surrey Docks (in reference to the nearby, now former, Surrey Commercial Docks) until it was renamed a second time to Surrey Quays in 1989, following the redevelopment of the docks.
