The Tanganyika Groundnut Scheme was a plan to cultivate tracts of what is now Tanzania with peanuts. This was attempted by the Government of Clement Atlee.It was abandoned at considerable cost to the taxpayer. The Tanganyikan Groundnuts Scheme
