The non recoil 75 Cannon was finalise by Commandant Deport, of Ateliers de Puteaux to start service in 1898.

It's based on the breech-loading, rifled De Bange Cannon mostly caliber 90 mm. The 7 kg munition has a range of 8 to 11 km. As a mobile artillery it was used in large numbers during World War I. It was versatile even as anti-aircraft with munitions filled with bullets. In 1940 it was used as an anti-tank.

It can have a rate of fire up to 20 shots per minute keeping its raise with an elaborate mechanism of non recoil.

The German army opposed it with the 77 Cannon with a close design.
