The Opening of Misty Beethoven is promoted as "the best looking American hardcore ever" and "single best American explicit film". Released in 1975, owes much to the fastidious director Radley Metzger (as Henry Paris). Metzger filmed Misty Beethoven over a year and a half on two continents from and set a standard for American porno-chic that would never be met again. The plot derives from the 1964 George Cukor film My Fair Lady. It received the first annual Erotic Film Festival Award for Best Movie.
