The Soft Bulletin was an album released by The Flaming Lips in 1999, notable for its pairing of keyboard-centered upbeat pop with frequently grim and potentially depressing lyrical matter. The Flaming Lips at this time consisted of Wayne Coyne, songwriting, vocals, and guitar; Michael Ivins, bass and vocals; and Steven Drozd, drums.
