Three Imaginary Boys
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Three Imaginary Boys was
The Cure's debut album. The album was recorded in
autumn of
1978 and then released in
May of
1979 on the new Fiction Records label.
Three Imaginary Boys was later re-released with a slightly different song lineup as
Boys Don't Cry.
The Cure were a trio when Boys was released, and the album is sparse and stripped down, with echoes of a punk edge, yet fresh enough to cause comment, tuneful, mournful and suggestive of what was to come. The disc features a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady." "Subway Song" is one of The Cure's best known tracks.
