Tigana is a fantasy novel by Guy Gavriel Kay, set in a fictional country that somewhat resembles medieval Italy. The country has been conquered by a powerful sorceror-king, and the story is largely that of a group of rebels attempting to overthrow him and win back their homeland. Many of the rebels are natives of the province of Tigana, which the sorceror-king wiped from the map in retaliation after his son was killed in battle during the conquest of Tigana.
