UserLinux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

UserLinux is a Linux distribution that aims to provide businesses with a freely available, high quality operating system accompanied by certifications, service, and support options designed to encourage productivity and security while reducing overall costs.

UserLinux uses both the GNOME and KDE desktop environments. At first, it was thought that it would use only GNOME because GNOME uses the GNU LGPL (instead of the GPL, like KDE) and because one GUI should be chosen to end the fragmentation of Linux GUIs. Controversey followed, eventually forcing UserLinux to support both window managers.

The project was initiated by Bruce Perens in late 2003. It is based on Debian.
