USS Decatur

Several ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Decatur, after the early hero Stephen Decatur.

• The first Decatur was a sloop-of-war in service from 1840 to 1859.

• Decatur (DD-5)

• Decatur (DD-341)

• Decatur (DD-936/DDG-31) was a destroyer in service from 1956 to 1983, later converted to the Self Defense Test Ship.

• Decatur (DDG-73) is a guided missile destroyer commissioned in 1998 and on active service as of 2003.
