Venda language
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Venda, also known as Tshivenda or Chivenda, is a Bantu language. The majority of Venda speakers live in South Africa (where Venda is an official language), but there are also speakers in Zimbabwe. In total, there are about 875,000 speakers. Before South Africa became a democratic contry, the bantustan of Venda was set up to cover the Venda speakers of South Africa.

Venda is one of the so-called Bantu languages, belonging to the Niger-Congo language family.
