Vestby

The municipality Vestby in the county of Akershus, Norway,
has 12,724 inhabitants as of January 1, 2003. It covers an area of 133 km2 (55,35 square miles). Main villages are Vestby, Hølen, Hvitsten Garder, and Son. The last mentioned was, from the Renaissance until the 1700's, the place of an important harbour. On some Dutch maps from that time, the Oslo bay is called Zoon Water.
