Walter Emmons Alston (December 1, 1911 - October 1, 1984) was an American baseball manager and player who played Major League Baseball for the St Louis Cardinals and managed the Brooklyn Dodgers (1954 - 1957) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (1958- 1976) for 23 years.

As a manager Alston won 7 National League pennants (1955, 1956, 1959, 1963, 1965, 1966 and 1974) and 4 World Series (1955, 1959, 1963, 1965). He was named Manager of the Year 6 times, and was manager of a victorious NL All-Star squad a record 7 times. He retired after the 1976 baseball season with 2,063 wins (2,040 regular season and 23 postseason).

Alston was Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
