Washington County is a
county located in the
U.S. State of
Utah. As of
2000, the population is 90,354. It was named for the first
President of the United States,
George Washington. Its
county seat is
St. George6.
Geography
\nAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 6,293
km² (2,430
mi²). 6,285 km² (2,427 mi²) of it is land and 8 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.13% water.
Demographics

2000, there are 90,354 people, 29,939 households, and 23,442 families residing in the county. The
population density is 14/km² (37/mi²). There are 36,478 housing units at an average density of 6/km² (15/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 93.57%

The average household size is 2.97 and the average family size is 3.36.
In the county, the population is spread out with 31.20% under the age of 18, 11.60% from 18 to 24, 22.40% from 25 to 44, 17.80% from 45 to 64, and 17.00% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 97.30 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.40 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $37,212, and the median income for a family is $41,845. Males have a median income of $31,275 versus $20,856 for females.
