White Ribbon Campaign
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The White Ribbon Campaign is an international effort of men and boys working to end violence against women.

Starting in Canada in 1991 by Jack Layton, it has now spread to over 35 countries around the world. Its basic principle is the importance of men and boys ending their historic silence to speak out against all forms of violence against women. In most countries, the majority of men do not commit acts of violence against women, but have not spoken out.

Through that silence men have allowed the violence to continue.
