Together, the University of Wisconsin, Indiana University, Yale University, and the National Optical Astronomy Observatories (NOAO) form the WIYN Consortium.
The universities financed the construction of the WIYN Observatory at Kitt Peak National Observatory in 1994 while the NOAO operates the facility.
The WIYN Observatory houses an innovative 3.5 metre, 46 ton telescope.
