XFce
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

XFce is a lightweight desktop environment for UNIX / Linux platforms. Its configuration is entirely mouse-driven, the configuration files are hidden from the casual user. Designed for productivity, it loads and executes applications fast, while conserving system resources

XFce is based on the GTK+ toolkit. It uses the XFwm window manager. XFce is somewhat similar to the commercial CDE, but has been getting a little farther away from that comparison with each new version (it was completely re-written twice, between versions 2 & 3 and 3 & 4).

It is now (Jan. 10th 2004) on version 4.0.3.
