YAML is a recursive acronym for "YAML Ain't Markup Language". YAML is a data serialization language that takes concepts from many languages such as XML, C, Python, and Perl and the email specification. YAML aims to be human-readable and computationally powerful. YAML was first proposed by Clark Evans.
