A Canadian politician, Charbonneau is a current member of the Liberal Party of Canada in the Canadian House of Commons, representing the riding of Anjou—Rivière-des-Prairies since 1997. Charbonneau is a former administrator, consultant, professor, and unionist. He is the current Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness with special emphasis on Emergency Preparedness, and is a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health.
