ZAZ (Zaporozhsky Avtomobilny Zavod) is an automobile manufacturer based in the Ukraine. The factory was set up in 1960 to create the Russian equivalent of the Volkswagen -- a car for the ordinary people.
The car was powered by an air-cooled V4 engine. The early model body was similar to the Fiat 600. A later restyling made the car look more like a NSU Prinz.
Since the 1990s ZAZ is owned by Daewoo.
Sometimes sold as Zaporozhets or Yalta.
